Holtz Landscaping has been part of the local business community since 1982. Founders Tim and Gladys Holtz have expanded it over the years, and continue to run the day-to-day operations, together with several of their family members.
They’re dedicated to helping beautify our community one home or business at a time.
The Holtz team installs and maintains residential and commercial irrigation systems all over the area. In fact, it’s the largest single part of their business. Tim and Gladys’ daughter, Nicki Gulick, has been managing the irrigation side for over 11 years now. They’re proud to have systems they installed 30 years ago continue to run well.
Are you tired of the unsightly rust your irrigation system leaves on your home’s siding, your trees and sidewalks? The folks at Holtz can help you with that, too!
Landscaping & Lawn Care
Along with irrigation, part of the original business has been their landscaping and lawn care side. Whether it’s new construction or a remodel of your existing home or business property, a Holtz crew is ready to tackle your project.
Maybe you’d like a pond and waterfall in your backyard…or a new perennial bed and paver patio area…or need a retaining wall. Maybe you want a manicured lawn but don’t have the time to maintain it yourself.
Contact Tim—he’ll know how to turn your dreams into reality.
Especially important during a snowy winter like the one we just had! Snow removal is part of home and building maintenance for many landscaping companies. Holtz is no exception.
The Holtzes bought their current building on Highway 65 and 153rd Avenue NE about 12 years ago (across from PTL Tire & Auto). It houses the Garden Center and Floral Shop where you can come in to buy your potted annuals, perennials and garden edibles each spring.
They’ve also been making a name for themselves with their fruit trees. They sell many apple, pear, cherry and plum trees each year.
Because of Tim’s background in forestry, he can educate you about the trees you buy, too. In fact, bring in a sample of a diseased or dying tree and he’ll put it under a microscope right there and help you diagnose the problem…then show you how to fix it and what products you need to help.
Besides plants, Gladys keeps a wide range of earthy home and garden decor items in the Garden Center all year around. Whether it’s a piece of furniture, a fountain, statuette, stuffed bear or wall hanging, you’re sure to find something you love.
The Garden Center also houses Ham Lake’s only floral shop. Stop in for fresh-cut flowers for all occasions including weddings, funerals and proms. They have a wide selection of blooms and greenery. They also deliver flowers all over Anoka County for birthdays, anniversaries, or just because.
Tim has been very active in the community for a couple decades. He was a Park & Tree Commissioner for 10 years with the City, and a Board member of the Ham Lake Area Chamber of Commerce for another 10 years.
They’ve loved being a member of Ham Lake’s business community. They’ve found it a great place to run a small business.
